Depending on how tame or wild your party is going to be, there are always the basements of large well-know churches in parts of Connecticut. Specifically, St.Joseph's Church on Main Street in Danbury CT has a very large room with tables and chairs, a more than ample kitchen , restrooms available right off the dance floor -- and I believe the rental is affordable. Now, St.Joe's might be out of your way, but I mention it only to get you moving in the right direction.

How many people are you looking to invite? My best friend just celebrated her birthday at the Blue Turtle in the Milford Mall. She invited about 30 people, they had a whole room closed off for us. After eating and drinking DELICIOUS drinks (I recommend Electric Lemonade) they had a music and the whole place turned into a club.
