Try www.socialserve.com. This is the site that the Section 8 housing departments contract with to list available properties.

I did a quick search and found very few options, especially for that price range and with a dog.

You might expand your search into surrounding areas or other options.

Good LuckAre there any section 8 housing programs in Sarasota, FL,cheap rentals for houses only?
Good luck here in Shittysota! The ONLY options for low income housing here are:

1. Go and get on the waiting list for public housing (projects like Janie Poe which is a fire hazard and roach infested, will be tore down in 4 years and they need to relocate all families as it is.

2. Go to McCowan Towers on 6th street and get on the list for a HUD voucher, which can take up to 10 years.

3. See about Habitat for Humanity as they are currently accepting applicants.

Try Bradenton. That's where they are pushing all low-income families anyways. Good luck. Move to Jacksonville, they have a million programs like that with little to no waiting list.

P.S.- I see you can afford 4-5 hundred a month. Here that will not even let you rent a room in someone else's home for that much.
They allow dogs in section 8 housing? Who feeds the dog? Do WE pay for the dogfood too? Sorry, this is news to me.
